Does Solar PV in your first graph include generation of those households that have now gone off the grid?

I would say that it doesn't include those who are off the grid as the graph only measures power supplied within the NEM. There would be no way to measure off grid power generation. At the moment those who have gone off the grid would be in the minority... those in remote locations or whose dwelling is on a property which is some way from a grid protection point, as well as a very small number of very early adopters.

I attended a public forum where an Ergon Energy Representative advised that 150 users went off the grid in 2014/2015 and a further 150 users went off the grid from July 2015 to September 2015 and he admitted that Ergon Energy was closely following this 'trend' - his word not mine. With only approximately 700,000 users this trend will be very interesting to watch over the next couple of years as the innovation of battery storage development advances and the inevitable price reduction occurs. Any ideas what Ergon Energy and the State Government plans are in this economic situation as they both seem to be reactive rather than proactive? Still business as usual?
